How to take attendance online in 4 steps

Set the class days
Open a course, go to Attendance and tick the days the class meets, for example Monday to Friday.

Mark the class
Pick the date, tap Present, Late, Absent or Leave for each student, or tap “Mark all present” and change the few who are missing. Add a note if needed.

Save and notify
Press Save. Students marked absent can get a notification straight away.

Review the month
The monthly register shows every student and every class day with totals and the percentage. Download it as CSV for your records.

How the percentage is worked out
Attendance % = (Present + Late) ÷ (Present + Late + Absent) × 100
Leave is not counted, so an approved absence never pulls a student below the line. Check any student’s numbers with the free attendance percentage calculator, or print a paper register with the attendance sheet maker.

What is an attendance management system?
An attendance management system is software that records which students attended each class, works out each student’s attendance percentage, and keeps monthly registers. In ilmdiya, teachers mark attendance per course and owners see it across the whole institution.
How is the attendance percentage calculated?
Attendance % = (Present + Late) ÷ (Present + Late + Absent) × 100. Days marked Leave are not counted against the student. For example, 18 present, 2 late and 2 absent gives 20 ÷ 22 = 90.9%.
What is the 75% attendance rule?
Many Pakistani schools, colleges and universities require at least 75% attendance to sit exams. ilmdiya flags every student below 75% on the owner’s attendance page so you can act before exams.
Can students see their own attendance?
Yes. Each student sees a colour-coded calendar for every course with their monthly percentage, and the course card on their home page shows this month’s attendance.
Does it work for online classes on Zoom or Google Meet?
Yes. Schedule the live class inside the course, then mark attendance for that day after the class. It works the same for classroom, online and blended teaching.
Can I export the attendance register?
Yes. Teachers download each course’s monthly register as a CSV file that opens in Excel, and owners download a CSV for all courses and students.
Do I need a biometric machine?
No. Teachers mark attendance on a phone or computer in a few seconds. ilmdiya records student attendance for classes; it is not a staff biometric or payroll system.
