Attendance percentage calculator

Enter the classes held and the classes you attended. The calculator shows your attendance percentage and tells you how many classes you can miss, or how many you must attend in a row, to stay at 75% or any target you choose.

Your attendance

70.0%

You are below 75%. Attend the next 12 classes in a row to reach 75%.

Formula: attended ÷ held × 100. Classes on approved leave are usually left out of both numbers; check your institution’s rule.

What is the formula for attendance percentage?

Attendance percentage = classes attended ÷ classes held × 100. If a student attended 42 of 60 classes, attendance is 70%. To keep 75%, a student can miss at most a quarter of all classes held.

Attendance calculator questions

How do I calculate attendance percentage?

Divide the classes you attended by the total classes held, then multiply by 100. For example, 42 classes attended out of 60 held is 42 ÷ 60 × 100 = 70%.

How many classes can I miss and keep 75% attendance?

Divide the classes you have attended by 0.75 and subtract the classes held so far. If you attended 36 of 40, then 36 ÷ 0.75 = 48, and 48 − 40 = 8, so you can miss 8 classes in a row and still be at 75%.

How many classes must I attend to reach 75%?

Use (0.75 × classes held − classes attended) ÷ 0.25 and round up. With 42 of 60, that is (45 − 42) ÷ 0.25 = 12, so you must attend the next 12 classes in a row.

Does late count as present?

In most schools a late arrival still counts as attended, which is how ilmdiya calculates it. Some institutions count three lates as one absence, so check your own rule.

Is leave counted in attendance?

Approved leave is usually left out of both the classes held and the classes attended, so it does not lower your percentage. ilmdiya registers follow this rule.

What happens if attendance is below 75%?

Many boards, colleges and universities in Pakistan do not let students below 75% sit the final exam without special permission. Check your institution’s policy early.

Teachers: stop counting by hand
