What is a student attendance sheet?

A student attendance sheet is a monthly register with each student’s name down the side and a column for every class day. Teachers mark P, A, L or Lv each day and total the row to get the attendance percentage at the end of the month.

Attendance sheet questions

How do I make an attendance sheet?

Write the class name and month at the top, list students down the left, and add a column for each class day. Mark P for present, A for absent, L for late and Lv for leave, then total each row at the end of the month. The maker on this page builds that layout for you.

Can I open the attendance sheet in Excel?

Yes. Click “Download for Excel (CSV)”. The file opens in Excel or Google Sheets with a column for every class day of the month.

How do I save the attendance sheet as a PDF?

Click “Print or save as PDF” and choose “Save as PDF” as the printer. The sheet prints on A4 landscape.

What should an attendance register include?

The institution name, class or section, teacher, month, each student’s name and roll number, a column per class day, and totals for present, absent and the attendance percentage.

Is this attendance sheet free?

Yes. It is free with no sign-up, and the names you type never leave your browser.

Skip the paper register

In ilmdiya, attendance takes one tap per class, the totals and percentages fill in by themselves, and the principal sees every class.
